Amusement fairgrounds at night markets (pasar malams) appear to be getting rarer in Singapore, and the rides are getting less and less interesting. There used to be giant viking ships rides and even mini roller coasters, but nowadays, it is constrained to ferris wheels and train rides. To me, these fairs are synonymous with happy children and pestered adults. I found out at this weekend’s pasar malam that things are not that simple.
